As the year 2012 comes to an end here in Northern California, I’d like to take a brief look at the wonderful year that was, this time as captured by my iPhone and post processed using various photo apps such as Instagram.

Happy New Year! Here’s to an even more prosperous 2013. Thank you for all your support. I’m hoping to see more of this beautiful blue planet in the years to come. I want to believe that I can keep this blog going despite my busy work and family life. Wish me luck. Cheers everyone!

What news I remember most from 2012

  • Conflict between Israel and Hamas
  • Numerous gun-related tragedies in USA, including Aurora, CO and Newton, CT school shooting
  • Curiosity landed on Mars. That rover has been traveling in outer space for 8 months. Can you imagine the amazing science and mathematics involved here? Try remotely stopping an object moving at 13,200 mph 350 million miles away! Mind boggling
  • San Francisco Giants won the World Series for the second time
  • London 2012 Olympics
  • Epic hacking of a TechCrunch writer’s Twitter account which eventually led to remote wiping of his iPhone and Mac
  • Facebook IPO
  • Marissa Myer became Yahoo’s CTO
  • Apple’s first year without Steve Jobs
  • Death of Neil Armstrong

Personal milestones in 2012: Launch of this blog

What I failed to do in 2012:

  • Reduce the amount of internet and social media usage
  • Shop less
